Previous to his work in Shrewsbury, he held teaching and administrative positions in Dedham, Wellesley, Newton, Lexington and Watertown. He served in Lexington and Watertown in the central office with responsibilities in curriculum, instruction, professional development, and personnel.
Tony is active in promoting global education in public schools. He serves on the Task Force of Massachusetts Citizens for Global Education and has traveled to China (Primary Source) and Japan (Japanese Fulbright Memorial Fund). He is also a member of the Global Education Advisory Council to the Board of Education and chair of the MASS Global Studies Committee. He has been a panelist and speaker at several conferences on how districts can implement global education programs in their communities.
Tony is currently President-Elect of the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents after having served as the Secretary, Vice President, and President of the Worcester County Superintendents' Association. He was the recipient of the MASS President's Award in 2006.
