The Caution with Credit video presentation was designed as a tool to help college students avoid credit debt. One in four students have credit debt of over $3,000. Over 80% of schools allow credit cards to solicit on their campuses. The connection between these two numbers has a lot to do with education. Many times students are getting their first credit card when they enter college, but aren’t informed of the repercussions of bad credit on their future.
Treasurer Tim Cahill’s Public Service Announcement advises students to be wise about their financial decisions and recommends visiting www.cautionwithcredit.com for accurate, easy to understand information that is geared towards high school and college students.
There are many opportunities for educators and peer leaders to incorporate this 11-minute video, 15-second PSA, and free literature into the annual academic calendar.
